SAN DIEGO DUO - POST-PUNK / DARKWAVE / GOTH

From San Diego, California emerges a post-punk, darkwave, and goth duo forging a sound both nostalgic and strikingly modern. Founded by Victor J. Maldonado—also known as Hex—who commands vocals, guitars, songwriting, and production, the project thrives on atmosphere and emotional depth. 

Hex is joined by Alexandrea Niell - also known as Astra - whose haunting vocals and immersive synth work add dimension and intensity, while also contributing as a co-writer.

Together, they craft music steeped in 80’s melancholy and cinematic tension—echoes of analog synths, driving basslines, and reverb-soaked guitars intertwine with dark, brooding textures. Their sound channels vintage post-punk spirit while maintaining a fresh, contemporary edge, creating a moody yet electrifying atmosphere that resonates with both devoted goth audiences and new listeners alike.
